8/29: End of Wk 13 - Final inspection approved!

Yeah so we still have more stuff to do (like install the real lights, patch up the downstairs ceiling, etc) BUT we have no more inspections now and we can move back in and cook for real again - HOORAY!



Finally sunny again!



As we celebrate, let's look back for a minute at the house we bought back in 2001. Remember those horrible countertops, the plastic black track lights, black sliding glass doors, beige walls everywhere, and that yucky orange brown paint outside? It seems we've come a long way.

8/22: End of week 12 - furniture arrives

Well the jerky inspector is making us replumb the sink (no more running water in the sink, and no working dishwasher), which also means our ceiling is open again in the master bedroom and bathroom. In the meantime we have been moving our furniture in to distract ourselves.










The fog finally lifts so we can see a sunset!

8/17: End of Week 11 - ready for inspection

They are calling for inspection on Monday, and hopefully it will happen (and we'll pass) on Tues or Wed. We still need final lights installed after inspection (current ugly fluorescent lights are required in order to pass inspection), and the cabinets will get another coat of paint, then hardware and glass installed.

8/9: End of Week 10

We have a sink and faucet now - woo hoo! And they don't even leak! Tile is installed on one side and the beaded board is almost finished. We still need lights, electricity and various other stuff.


Our fridge is here but the cabinet is too short to enable the fridge to fit when leveled. The cabinet guy has to come this week to adjust. Other appliances are to be installed this coming week too.
